The TNT Songwriting Camp Series

After having my own band for 15 years, I decided what made me happy was to just be the songwriter.  So in 2016, I began pursuing songwriting like a job: 5 days a week, writing several songs each week, learning the business and making connections. I learned early on that working with the artist to shape their own individual sound is what I loved doing most.  Those connections led to me wanting to mentor Young Artists and songwriters and get them connected with each other and collaborating. Thus began what I call “The Writing Camp”. My goal is to help people learn the business side of songwriting and give them opportunities to meet new people and write new songs.  Also to unite people that are like-minded so they can build relationships that will last a lifetime. So far, so good - these camps at our TnT Ranch have been very successful and my plan is to continue them once or even twice per year. Great songs have been written during each event and my family of songwriters just keeps growing.

HOPE TO SEE YALL AT THE NEXT CAMP!

First, Hit Songwriter David Lee generously stayed the whole time and was unbelievably humble and kind. He encouraged, inspired and sang his way into all our hearts.  

Second, the talent that showed up was a bit intimidating. You think you're a pretty good writer until you hear the talent of these other amazing artists.   

Performing Artist Hunter Jordan, who was at the first camp, brought 3 extra super-talented people.  They already feel like family.    

Ann Ammar of Ann Ammar Publishing was the publisher in the room.  Her energy and enthusiasm rubbed off on everyone who came.  

Bailey Rae, whom you saw on The Voice season 19, rocked the house and came away with, in my opinion, 2 hit songs.   

And well there was the cowboy that showed up to interview for a job at our ranch, Curtis Ward. Better follow that talented man. The duet he did with Bailey could rival Tim and Faith!

We didn't leave bluegrass out as long time co-writer Nick Taylor showed up with cousin Bleau Oney. They proceeded to show us how bluegrass is played and sung!  

I could brag about the Okie, Jack Tidwell, but look him up yourself – you'll be hooked as we all were!  

Last but not least, Jamie Goode with JME Studios was there all day and all night, taking pictures and videoing the whole event!  She is the best and now part of the fam!  

The Saturday night concert was invitation-only and I believe was a huge success.  Many of the visitors said they were amazed at the wonderful songs written in just 1 day!  We will do that again!  

I'd like to list the great songs that were written, but I'll let the performance videos speak for themselves.
